Shnaider, who has been improving all year, was in control of the occasion, winning four of her eight break points, whilst only being broken once herself to win 6-3, 6-3.
21:07 CET - Another hard-fought clash comes to an end, as Montreal's 19th seed, Luciano Darderi, sees off Nuno Borges in three sets.
The Italian came back to beat Borges 4-6, 6-3, 7-5, despite 17 aces from the Portuguese player.
Next up in Quebec is the third-ever clash between Arthur Rinderknech and Brandon Nakashima, with both players hovering around 30 in the ATP rankings.

First up in Toronto is a heavyweight clash between world number 11 Marta Kostyuk and world number eight Iga Swiatek, before a meeting between Jessica Pegula and Diana Shnaider follows.
Kostyuk made light work of what should have been a tricky match against Madison Keys in the last round and will fancy her chances against Swiatek, who is playing her first tournament since her underwhelming third-round exit at Wimbledon.
