Krejcikova, the number two seed, cruised to a 6-3, 6-1 win Tuesday against Russia's Anna Blinkova (23) to join number eight Marie Bouzkova (24) and three young compatriots in the second round: Dominika Salkova (18), and Lucie Havlickova (17) and Linda Noskova (17).
Other first-round winners included top seed Anett Kontaveit (26) of Estonia, who beat Georgia's Ekaterine Gorgodze (30) 6-0, 6-1 in 48 minutes. Number five seed Alize Cornet (32) of France was a 6-2, 6-3 winner against Anastasia Zakharova (20) of Russia.
Number seven seed Anastasia Potapova (21) of Russia eliminated China's Xinyu Wang (20) 6-1, 6-2. Russia's Oksana Selekhmeteva (19) recorded her first WTA Tour win with a 7-5, 6-4 upset of Sorana Cirstea (32) of Romania.
Poland Open
Romania's Ana Bogdan (29) ousted number seven seed Nuria Parrizas-Diaz (31) of Spain 6-4, 7-6 (3) in first-round action before rain halted play in Warsaw.
Only two other matches were completed. Number 10 seed Jasmine Paolini (26) rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 win against Danka Kovinic (27) of Montenegro, and France's Clara Burel (21) posted a 7-6 (5), 6-1 win against Slovakia's Anna Karolina Schmiedlova (27).
The rain interrupted three other matches in progress.
