We’re in the home stretch, last eight shirts of the World Cup. Who makes it among the best? Some timeless classics, a touch of retro and a new approach to Portuguese shirt.

8. Mexico

They just don’t miss, do they? It’s a classic combination of white shorts, green shirt with red stripes and a nice print.

7. Belgium

Timeless red and black combination works for Belgium just as well as it does for the Chicago Bulls. The Red Devils also run it back to the 90s a bit with flames on the sleeves.

6. France

Elegant as usual. Dark blue shirt with the most subtle details, with the gold crest of the world champions standing out just enough to be a badge of honour, not an eyesore.

5. Argentina

Clear lines, the usual light shade of blue accompanied with black lines on shoulders and sleeves. Another classic.

4. Portugal

A kit that divided the fans, just like the two colours on it are divided. We certainly are fans of the split design and like the fact that the green part of the shirt just naturally continues down to the shorts. Like the kit is just one piece.

3. Uruguay

Lovely retro design. The light blue is dominant, but not overwhelming, add the white collar with a button and a touch of gold in the crest… Brilliant combination.

2. The Netherlands

The Dutch shirts really make them seem like lions from their crest. A new classic for the Oranjes - only held back by the fact that the orange can be more, well, orange.

1. Costa Rica

Curiously the only New Balance shirt at the tournament.. And the brand really used their one chance well. Dominant dark red and blue combination with a touch of white on the collar and in the crest makes for a great mix.
