The Madrid Open's top seeds were back in action today with Carlos Alcaraz (19) beating Grigor Dimitrov (31) while Iga Swiatek (21) eased past Bernarda Pera (28). Our Tennis Tracker is here to bring you all the news and highlights from those matches and every other.

23:36 CET - In some of the day's late results, Ekaterina Alexandrova (28) beat Qinwen Zheng (20) 5-7, 6-4, 6-2. Alexandrova will next play top-seed Iga Swiatek (21).

On the men's side, Daniel Altmaier (24) advanced after beating Yannick Hanfmann (31) 7-6(3), 6-3.

In the day's final match in Madrid, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (23) is leading Holger Rune (20).

14:15 CET - Roberto Bautista-Agut (35) performed well but couldn't quite claim victory on home turf, losing 7-4, 4-6, 6-3 to tenth seed Karen Khachanov (26). 

13:00 CET - The first matches of the day have been completed and they've gone the way most would have expected, with world number eight Daria Kasatkina (25) beating Lesia Tsurenko (33), winning 6-4, 6-2, and 18th seed Martina Trevisan (29) winning 7-6, 6-1 against Alycia Parks (22).

11:50 CET - Play has started in Madrid and it promises to be another action-packed day with plenty of stars hitting the clay.
