Rune has just won the opening set 6-3 in this semi-final. The winner will face Tommy Paul (25), who beat Taylor Fritz (25) in one of the matches of the year.
The match lasted three and a half hours - the longest match in the history of Acapulco. It was an unbelievable, energy-sapping epic, with both players wilting towards the end. At one point, Fritz was seen vomiting on the side of the court.
It is the first ATP 500 event final of Paul's career, and boy, he will be hoping that he recovers fully by tomorrow.
