Live updates and insights
Wednesday, October 21st
23:05 CET - That brings us to the end of the third matchday in the Champions League, and the 36-team standings are starting to take shape.
Last season's winners, PSG, lead the way after their 4-2 win over Barcelona on Tuesday with nine points, whilst Aston Villa, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Real Betis also have perfect records.
At the other end of the spectrum, Slovan Bratislava, Lille and Porto are all pointless after three games.

We will be back over the weekend for more action from across Europe.
22:53 CET - All over across Europe - let's bring you the results.
Arsenal and Bayern share the spoils after Declan Rice's late equaliser, whilst Real Madrid head into 'El Clasico' in good form thanks to a 4-1 victory over RB Leipzig.
In Birmingham, Aston Villa secured a 3-1 win over Viking to make it three wins from three, and there were also wins for Betis, Club Brugge, as well as Inter.
Luis Suarez netted a brace for Sporting; however, it was not enough for them to overcome LASK, with the Austrian side outlasting their rivals to win 3-2.
22:42 CET - Declan Rice, what a finish! The English midfielder fires a rocket into the bottom corner, making it 2-2 for Arsenal at Bayern to finish off a flowing Gunners move. Less than 10 minutes to go at the Allianz Arena, can someone find a winner?

Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe cannot stop scoring, netting his 13th Real Madrid goal of the campaign to make it 3-1 against RB Leipzig and Yan Diomande adds a fourth to get one back over his former side with a fantastic volley.
22:38 CET - Despite being down to 10 men, Inter have snatched a late lead against Shakhtar Donetsk thanks to Brazilian Carlos Augusto, who has now netted in consecutive games.
22:32 CET - It's turning into another special Champions League night for Club Brugge, who find themselves 3-0 up against Lens thanks to a first of the night for Carlos Forbs.
22:19 CET - Harry Kane won't be denied, will he? The centre forward steps up to the plate from the spot to put Bayern 2-1 up against Arsenal.
Elsewhere, an own goal from Henrik Heggheim sees Aston Villa stretch their lead to three against Viking, whilst Sasa Kalajdzic has put LASK 2-1 up against Sporting and a penalty from Isco has put Real Betis in front at home to Feyenoord.
22:15 CET - Back to the Bernabeu, where Real Madrid are 2-0 up against RB Leipzig after a strike from Arda Guler as they continue to dominate the game against their German opponents.
22:10 CET - Club Brugge have doubled their lead against Lens, thanks to Joaquin Seys' first goal of the season for the Jupiler Pro League side.

22:03 CET - Back underway for the second halves - here we go then!
21:53 CET - Half-time across Europe, let's catch you up.
Club Brugge have netted through Hans Vanaken on the stroke of half-time to lead against Lens.
Aston Villa and Real Madrid are the only other sides with a lead at the break against Viking and RB Leipzig respectively, whilst Bayern have fought back to make it 1-1 against Arsenal at the break.

Sporting and LASK are also locked at 1-1 at the break, whilst it is goalless between Inter and Shakhtar as well as between Real Betis and Feyenoord.
21:48 CET - The deadlock has been broken at the Bernabeu, as Bernardo Silva nets his first-ever goal for Real Madrid to put them into the lead against RB Leipzig.
21:36 CET - Harry Kane has been the scourge of Arsenal over the years, and he haunted them again as the Englishman sets up Alphonso Davies to see Bayern draw level in the 35th minute.
Kane now has 45 goal involvements in the Champions League since joining the Bavarian giants, more than any other player in that time.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa have doubled their lead against Norwegian outfit Viking, after Emi Buendia slots home a spot-kick.
21:25 CET - Over to the Midlands, where Aston Villa have taken the lead against Viking. An inswinging corner finds the head of Ross Barkley at the near post, who makes no mistake. It's been a dominant start from the Premier League outfit; can they add to their lead?
Meanwhile, Arsenal are ahead against Bayern Munich through Eberechi Eze, who latched onto a lovely, lofted through ball from Martin Odegaard.

21:17 CET - After Manchester United's calamitous 4-1 defeat to Como, Bruno Fernandes has had his say on the defeat, saying to TNT Sports: "It's a decision from the staff to not press man to man and sometimes leave space behind and try to get the ball, wait for them, but sometimes when you give space to these teams they get confidence."
He added when asked about whether manager Michael Carrick's tactics were wrong: "That's on the manager and staff to see, not me. Sometimes you have to be more brave under pressure, take the risk of pressing high and making them uncomfortable."
How much time has Carrick got left?
Meanwhile, LASK have got an equaliser against Sporting in the 15th minute through Christoph Lang.
21:11 CET - Some early issues for Arsenal as Bukayo Saka has been forced off with a suspected hamstring injury and replaced with Eberechi Eze.

21:07 CET - Our first goal of the night comes in Portugal, where Luis Suarez has scored from the spot to secure his third in three Champions League games.
21:00 CET - Underway across the remaining games of this week's Champions League games - what are we in store for?
20:56 CET - Whilst Manchester United were poor against Como, Nico Paz's stock has certainly risen as he put in a player-of-the-match performance.

20:50 CET - The other standout game tonight sees Aston Villa host Viking as Unai Emery's side look to continue their perfect start to the league phase. Check out the lineups for that clash:

20:45 CET - It is all over in Como too as a dreadful night comes to an end for Man Utd. It was a special one for Como, however, who are now on six points from three games and look like the real deal.
20:40 CET - The Osimhen goal would prove to be the final one of a six-goal thriller, and it turned into a brilliant away win for Galatasaray at Lille.

20:23 CET - When it rains it pours... Man Utd are being thrashed in Como as the hosts go 4-0 up and a comfortable win turns into a humiliating defeat for Michael Carrick's side. Carrick now looks like a dead man.

20:08 CET - To Madrid then and Jose Mourinho hands another start to the in-form Arda Guler in what promises to be an exciting clash between two goals who have been better at attacking than defending this season.

20:05 CET - Before we bring you team news from Madrid as Real host RB Leipzig, Nico Paz has scored again for Como! Cesc Fabregas' side are playing some scintillating football and are showing the world what they are all about - a special side.
20:01 CET - Meanwhile, Gala are leading now at Lille and have just now gone 4-2 up and surely out of sight as Victor Osimhen finally gets on the scoresheet for Gala's fourth and possilby the winning goal.
Some game...

19:58 CET - Another classy goal from Como early in the second period meanwhile has them 2-0 ahead and all but out of sight against Man Utd!
Nico Paz was heavily involved again as he played in Anastasios Douvikas and the Greek striker made no mistake with a ruthless finish.

19:48 CET - With second half time in Como and Lille, our focus turns to team news for what is a huge game tonight in Munich as Bayern host Arsenal.
It is a fascinating battle between last season's finalists Arsenal and last season's semi-finalists Bayern Munich and like last night when PSG hosted Barcelona, it feels like a potential dress rehearsal for a huge showdown in the latter stages.
Check out the lineups for that huge clash:

19:40 CET - It is also half-time in Como and a big team talk is coming up for Michael Carrick after his side were outclassed and outfought by Man Utd in an opening 45 minutes. Como should be more than one goal ahead and what will really worry Carrick is that it feels like the hosts are in third gear.
Carrick's days already looked numbered but two Champions League defeats in a row would only escalate that sense of inevitability.

19:35 CET - That was the final action of a thrilling first half that saw just about everything! Four goals, one overturned penalty and a teenage sensation making a name for himself.
And the best news? They will do it all over again with a second half coming right up.

19:32 CET - But once again, the lead doesn't last long in what is turning into a classic clash! A teasing delivery from full-back Roland Sallai is pounced on inside the box by the unmarked Alexey Batrakov and the Russian midfielder diverted a header into the bottom corner.

19:25 CET - Lille have completed the comeback against Galatasaray and Lille-born teenager Diaoune has scored again, another really composed finish from the fearless youngster!

19:20 CET - Since that early goal, Como have remained on top and Man Utd have created very little.
This is going perfectly for Cesc Fabregas' side.

18:58 CET - Lille have wasted no time in equalising against Gala and it is another smart finish as teenage forward Soriba Diaoune rounded the keeper before passing the ball into an empty net. 1-1.

18:53 CET - Como have also scored a very early goal to pile more misery on Carrick's Man Utd! It was a brilliant curling strike by their star player Nico Paz and unstoppable for Senne Lammens as it flew into the top corner.
Some insight on that Paz goal from Opta, as it is his first goal in the 2026/2027 UEFA Champions League, netting for the first time in the competition since 29th November 2023 against Napoli.
18:48 CET - And as that game gets underway, Galatasaray have scored inside the second minute in Lille! The fans were still finding their seats when a breathless Gala counter fell to Yunus Akgun and he made no mistake with a ruthless finish inside the box.
18:43 CET - The teams are out in and the Champions League music is being played from a very wet and windy Lake Como!
This feels like a hugely significant game for Carrick as he looks to turn the tide of a season that has yet to get going.
17:40 CET - Good evening and welcome back to our live coverage of matchday three of the Champions League. It promises to be another drama-packed evening and we start with a really exciting clash between Cesc Fabregas' thrilling young Como and former winners Man Utd.
Team news is in from that game and the other early kick-off as Lille host Galatasaray and it is fair to say Michael Carrick has gone with experience over youth this evening as Matthijs de Ligt comes straight back into the team after being out since last November and Mason Mount starts in midfield over Carlos Baleba.
Carrick is also starting Bruno Fernandes on the wing for the third consecutive game as he looks to add an extra man deeper to support the midfield two.
As for Como, Fabregas has made four changes from the side that thrashed Fiorentina at the weekend, as star player Nico Paz starts in the number 10 position.
Check out the lineups for Lille vs Galatasaray below:

Tuesday, October 20th
23:40 CET - That's that for the first night of this week's Champions League action, and what a night it was, with goals galore and drama aplenty.
It's a tough act to follow, but tomorrow could be a blockbuster too, with a meeting between Bayern Munich and Arsenal headlining things.
We'll be back to continue our coverage from the late afternoon; see you then!
23:05 CET - It wasn't only the French capital that produced a thriller tonight, with Liverpool beating Villarreal 4-3 and Napoli edging Bodo/Glimt by the same scoreline.
There were plenty of goals in Manchester too, where a hat-trick from Phil Foden inspired City to beat AEK Athens 5-1, and Roma dealt out a thrashing of their own against Slovan Bratislava.
The two cagier affairs saw PSV claim a big win away to Porto, and 10-man Atletico Madrid hold on to draw 1-1 in Stuttgart.
23:00 CET - And breathe. There were sky-high expectations for PSG vs Barcelona, and boy did it deliver.
The two sides played out a cagey first half, but the game came alive after the break, and after countless moments of individual magic, PSG ultimately prevailed 4-2 to maintain their perfect European record.
Two top sides going at each other, and the best players in the world delivering. That's what the Champions League is all about.
22:51 CET - Game, set and match! Fabian Ruiz makes it four to surely give PSG the win!
22:43 CET - Chaos in Paris! PSG lead 3-2 after two goals in three minutes!
Lamine Yamal drew Barcelona level with a stunning toe-poke of a finish from a tight angle, only for Vitinha to restore PSG's lead with a drilled strike from the edge of the box!
This game is certainly delivering!
22:35 CET - PSG retake the lead courtesy of Lucas Hernandez!
The defender has headed in his first goal since February of 2024 to put Luis Enrique's side back ahead with 20 minutes to go.
The corner was taken by Doue, who has really stepped up tonight.
22:32 CET - Liverpool have completed a stunning turnaround at Anfield, fighting back from 2-0 to lead 4-2 with second-half goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Florian Wirtz putting them ahead.
22:18 CET - Barcelona draw level through Xavi Espart!
On his first Champions League start, the young full-back has made it 1-1 after bombing forward and getting on the end of a great pass from Fermin Lopez.
Game on!
21:59 CET - The player with the highest Flashscore rating in Paris thus far is Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia, which says a lot about how the game has been going.
The Spaniard has made eight saves to keep his side in it.

21:51 CET - That's that for the first halves of tonight's games, and the biggest one is being led 1-0 by PSG.
Across the channel, Liverpool have overturned a 2-0 deficit to head into the break level, while Man City are 2-0 up and comfortable against AEK Athens.
Check out all of the half-time scores here.
21:41 CET - PSG take the lead! The hosts have gone ahead through a screamer from Desire Doue!
The young Frenchman picked the ball up just outside the area after it was given away by Lamine Yamal, and fired an unstoppable shot into the corner.
It's a deserved lead for the reigning champions, who have started to take charge as the half has gone on.

21:26 CET - It's been a cagey opening period in Paris, where the biggest moment has been the substitution of Ousmane Dembele, who has picked up a hamstring injury and been replaced by Ferran Torres.
That's a big blow for the hosts.
21:13 CET - There have been two early goals in England, with Georges Mikautadze taking advantage of a huge Virgil van Dijk error to give Villarreal a surprise lead at Anfield, and Elliott Anderson putting Man City ahead against AEK Athens.
20:36 CET - That’s full-time in the Champions League’s early kick-offs, with Dortmund edging Sabah 2-1 away in Azerbaijan, while Fenerbahce conceded at the death to draw 2-2 with Slavia Prague in Istanbul.
Serhou Guirassy was the hero for the Bundesliga giants, scoring a brace in their win - he now has 26 goals in 23 UCL starts for Dortmund, remarkably. While Slavia's saviour was Pavel Kacor, who netted his first senior goal for the club in the 90th minute to earn a point for the Praguers.
Follow the links to each match to see all the stats and facts.

19:50 CET - The lineups are coming for the late games now, and we can confirm that Barcelona will start with Lamine Yamal, Raphinha and Anthony Gordon in attack, with PSG fielding Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in their front line.
Rodri, however, only makes the bench for Barca as he is being rested ahead of the Clasico, along with Frenkie de Jong.
Elsewhere, Erling Haaland is on the bench for Manchester City's match with AEK Athens, while Lewis Koumas leads the line for Liverpool against Villarreal.
Check out all the lineups for tonight's games here.

19:36 CET - It's half-time in Baku, and Azerbaijani side Sabah are level with Borussia Dortmund after Aden McCarthy's 39th-minute header cancelled out Serhou Guirassy's early opener.
Meanwhile, in Istanbul, goals from Oguz Aydin and Mason Greenwood have earned Fenerbahce a 2-1 lead over Slavia Prague at the break.
17:42 CET - We're just over an hour away from this evening's two early kick-offs, as Fenerbahce host Slavia Prague in Istanbul and Borussia Dortmund travel to Azerbaijan to face Sabah Baku.
Here are the starting lineups from Baku, with Niko Kovac fielding a strong side as the German giants look to bounce back from a disappointing defeat to Bodo/Glimt on matchday two.

16:15 CET - Hello and welcome to Flashscore's coverage of this week's Champions League action!
All eyes are on Paris tonight, with the French capital playing host to a clash between arguably the two best sides in the world right now, PSG vs Barcelona.
The reigning French and Spanish champions head into their meeting occupying the top spots in the League Phase table, having each won their first two matches in emphatic fashion.
It's been a similar story for Barcelona domestically, with Hansi Flick's side winning all nine of their LaLiga matches this season and scoring 39 goals in the process. Led by the unstoppable duo of Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, they haven't failed to claim victory in a competitive match since May.
They'll face their biggest test of the season tonight, though, because after a slow start to their campaign, Champions League holders PSG have won each of their last six, and were at their glorious best last time out on the European stage, beating Manchester City 4-2 away from home.
That clash will kick off at 21:00 CET, and you can read our preview of it here.

Those two aren't the only giants in action, with Liverpool and Manchester City playing host to Villarreal and AEK Athens, respectively, in the north of England, Atletico Madrid visiting Stuttgart, Napoli welcoming Bodo/Glimt to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, and Borussia Dortmund taking on Sabah Baku in an early kick-off.
Perhaps the highest stakes, though, are in the matches involving clubs lower down the table, with FC Porto and PSV both in need of a win in their meeting having made poor starts to their European campaigns, and Roma knowing that anything other than three points against Slovan Bratislava will leave them playing catch-up.
