Hoping to build upon their best-ever start to a La Liga (LL) campaign in the 21st century after accumulating 12 points from a possible 15, the hosts began the opening embers of the contest in emphatic fashion as Rubén García’s strike agonisingly struck the right-hand post. Unbeaten in their last six H2H encounters, Getafe were inches away from doubling their lead in the 49th minute when Enes Ünal’s free-kick brought an exquisite save from Herrera. Getafe remained in control, despite also going down to 10-men when Luis Milla was shown a second yellow card in stoppage-time, to record only their second victory across 11 previous LL matches. Meanwhile, Osasuna were left to reflect on the unfamiliar taste of defeat after succumbing to their first defeat at the El Sadar this season.
