Tuchel and Conte clash after final whistle as Spurs rescue point against Chelsea
Goals from Kane and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg cancelled out strikes from Kalidou Koulibaly and Reece James but the main event was in the dugout as Thomas Tuchel - the Chelsea manager - and Antonio Conte were at each other's throats during the game and after the final whistle.
The first altercation came after Hojbjerg's 20-yard drive past Eduoard Mendy, which had brought Spurs level in the second half. Koulibaly had taken the lead for the Blues with a wonderful volley to open his account in a Chelsea shirt.
Conte celebrated his Spurs' side's goal with vigour in front of Tuchel, which saw both managers square up to each other and had to be physically pulled apart by members of their own staff.
Back on the pitch, tempers inevitably flared with Kai Havertz at the centre of it throughout the second half, and he missed a golden chance to take the lead again for the hosts but fired wide from just four yards out. But, Chelsea were back in the lead soon after.
With time ticking away, Raheem Sterling found James in acres of space following a swift transition, leaving the England defender with a simple task to restore his side’s lead.
There was no shortage of desire from either side as the full-time whistle approached, and the drama continued when Kane got his head on a stoppage-time corner to snatch a point at the death, but the action wasn't over just yet.
As Conte and Tuchel shook hands following the final whistle, they did not let go as both managers glared at each other, shouting provocations and had to be, for the second time, pulled apart by players, staff and even members of security.
Conte and Tuchel were 'sent off' by referee Anthony Taylor and will face repercussions for the incident, but Spurs will feel this point is as good as a win in this spicy London derby.
