Germany defeated Poland 82-69 in the bronze medal game at the Eurobasket. Dennis Schröder (29) was the top scorer with 26 points.

The German national team built up a first-half lead at home in Berlin, with Schröder's 12 points giving them a thirteen-point lead at the break. But the Poles did not give up. In the second half, they started their chase and tied the game at 59:59 at the beginning of the last quarter after a three-pointer by Jakub Garbacz. However, the Germans, who lost to the Spanish in the dramatic semi-final, bounced back and pulled off the win, much to the delight of Dirk Nowitzki in the stands.

They celebrated their first bronze at the European Championships after the gold in 1993 and silver in 2005. The Poles missed the chance to win their first medal since 1967, but still recorded their best result in 51 years.
