Christine Sinclair to end illustrious Canada career against Australia in December
Sinclair, a native of British Columbia and the world's all-time leading international goalscorer, announced her retirement last week but will play for Portland Thorns in the National Women's Soccer League next season.
Canada, who were eliminated by Australia in the group phase of this year's Women's World Cup, will face the Matildas on December 1st and 5th in British Columbia.
"Competing against a top opposition in Australia will be critical in our preparation ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics," said Canada head coach Bev Priestman.
"And, of course, it will be an incredible occasion in Vancouver to celebrate Christine's historic, decorated career in her hometown."
Sinclair's international career includes a record 190 goals for Canada in 327 games, an Olympic gold medal and six World Cup appearances.
Last month, Sinclair helped Canada clinch a Paris Olympic berth with a win over Jamaica in Toronto.
