The UFC's Charles "Do Bronx" Oliveira (33) is sure that he is still the owner of the lightweight belt. In practice, the title is not his (the belt is vacant), since it slipped out of his hands in May at UFC 274, when he didn't make the necessary weight and lost the title without even entering the octagon against Justin Gaethje (33). This Saturday, at UFC 280, he will have the chance to regain what he guarantees is his, in a clash against Russian Islam Makhachev (31) in Abu Dhabi.

The Sao Paulo fighter's motivation couldn't be higher, with all that confidence being an important support when the fight has its start.

"I'm going to continue making history. I've shown that I really am the real champion.

"I'm going for one more title defence, I'm not going to just win the title back. No one will get it out of my head. Charles is still the lightweight champion," the former UFC champion said on the Countdown show.

The numbers also speak in favour of the Brazilian, the greatest finisher in UFC history, and owner of the greatest number of submission wins in the organization's history with 16. He also has the most bonuses in the organization's history.

Charles has 11 victories in a row, 10 by submission, which always draws the attention of those in charge of the event, as well as the fans, who have become accustomed to expecting a big show every time he enters the octagon.

Charles' opponent, Islam Makhachev, goes into his first belt fight with 10 straight wins, four by submission.
